Things have gotten spooky in the Umeeverse. Don’t worry, it’s not too late to take part in the festivities. That said, we’re back with Umeeverse Newsletter #3 where we’ll do a deep dive on everything going on and what to look forward towards!

Things have gotten spooky in the Umeeverse. Don’t worry, it’s not too late to take part in the festivities. That said, we’re back with Umeeverse Newsletter #3 where we’ll do a deep dive on everything going on and what to look forward towards!

Umeeween Meme Contest

As Rise of the Umeevengers is actively underway for our validator community, we figured we get into the holiday spirit and provide some treats to the non-technical Umee community. We’ve done so by launching #Umeeween where anybody, existing and new, can participate to win UMEE tokens. That said, here are some quick hits on what you need to know about the Umeeween Meme Competition:

  • To enter the competition, create an original meme (image, video, or gif) related to Umee and reply with your meme under the Twitter competition thread with #Umeeween.
  • Anyone can enter! There is no limit to the number of submissions, but you will only be allowed to win once unless you also win the Discord community favorite.
  • Submissions will be accepted until 23:59 UTC, Sunday, 31st October
  • 5,000 UMEE tokens are up grabs!
  • The meme with the most 🌊 reactions on the #memes Discord channel will receive an additional 250 UMEE.
  • Twenty (20) random participants who also retweet the competition thread will receive 100 UMEE each.
  • All Umee token rewards will be distributed after mainnet launch.
  • For full details on the Umeeween Meme Competiton, read here.

Umeevengers Testnet

  • After some initial “testnet charms” with the Umeevengers testnet phase I, we are set to start the testnet on October 21st.
  • We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our validator community members for being understanding and patient with us until this point. This is why testnets are done and how we develop a stronger validator community!
  • We can’t wait to see the results of all of these talented validators competing against each other. May the best Umeevengers win!

Generalized Testnet

  • As we put the finishing touches on the Umee UI, we will have generalized testnets on the horizon.
  • For those of you excited to borrow and lend across the Umee platform, it will be here soon. It’ll be the best party the Umeeverse will have thrown!

DeFi Times Interview

  • Umee’s CEO/Founder Brent Xu had the pleasure of sitting down with Defi Times in a wide-ranging discussion regarding Umee at large, Cosmos, and much more!

Cosmos SZN — Rise of the Cosmos Virtual Conference

  • We are happy to let you know that Brent Xu will be a keynote speaker at Persistence One’s Rise of the Cosmos virtual conference.
  • The event takes place October 22, so much sure to register for the event today before you miss out on heaps of Cosmonaut knowledge!

HackAtom

  • The biggest HackAtom in Cosmos history is on the horizon! Starting November 11, with $1,000,000 in $ATOM as the prize pool, it’s destined to be an ecosystem-shifting event.
  • That said, we are proud to announce that Umee is one of the sponsors to the event. We encourage and hope all developers from every ecosystem to participate and be part of the future of Cosmos. It sure is bright!

Reddit

  • Subscribe to the Umee subreddit today!
  • We will soon begin conducting Weekly Discussions on the subreddit, so keep your eyes peeled for that announcement. It will serve as a way for you and other Umee community members to communicate openly and discuss any topics or questions that are Umee-related. We look forward to the conversations!
